VETERAN HISTORY DAY PROJECT 9:00am-4:00pm

Created by the United States Congress as part of the American Folklife center at the Library of Congress. The VHP’s mission is to collect, reserve, and make accessible the personal accounts of American War veterans so that future generations may hear directly from Veterans and better understand the realities of war. The project will collect first-hand accounts of U.S. Veterans from the following wars:

·  World War, 1939-1945

·  Cold War

·  Korean War, 1950-1953

·  Vietnam War, 1961-1975

·  Grenada--History--American Invasion, 1983

·  Panama--History--American Invasion, 1989

·  Operation Restore Hope, 1992-1993

·  Persian Gulf War, 1991

·  United Nations Operation in Somalia

·  Haiti--History--American intervention, 1994-1995

·  Operation Allied Force, 1999

·  Peacekeeping forces--Bosnia and Hercegovina

·  Operation Joint Guardian, 1999-

·  War on Terrorism, 2001-2009

·  Afghan War, 2001-

·  Iraq War, 2003-2011

HISTORICAL REENACTMENT GROUP AND MILITARY VEHICLE DISPLAY PARK 12:30pm-4:30pm

This themed area will recreate military history and teach you about the events to remember Veterans and units of our nations conflicts. Military historical groups such as the Brigade of the American Revolution, Continental Marines of Southern California, On Site Living History (Civil War), WWI Centinneal Commision (Doughboys), 2nd Marine Reenactment Group, British 1st Airborne, 2nd Marine Reenactment Group and 45th Field Hospital will be on site. In addition WWII jeeps and current military vechicless such as the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vechicle and LMTV will be on display. So stop by and enjoy this rare experience

LIVING VETERAN AND MILITARY MUSEUM

This one day military museum will show case World War II memorabilia and equipment. Students, families and individuals are encourage to visit the museum to interact with a Pearl Harbor Survivor, an Iwo Jima Veteran, WWII Veterans, Korean War and Vietnam War Veterans. The museum also partnered with the Library of Congress and Congressman Ken Calvert's office, as part of the Veterans History Project to interview and record personal accounts of our nations combat Veterans.   

VETERAN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION PARK

Over 30 Veteran non-profit organizations will be present. Each and everyone of these groups provide much needed assistance to local Veterans and their families.
